Dear ViewSonic: I am interested in one of your products, the ViewSonic Value Series VA1703wb Black 17" 8ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1. Specifically, I would like to now more about certain environmental aspects of this product. Please answer the following questions: 1. Does this product comply with ISO 11469 or DIN 6120 to ensure components are visually marked for recycling? 2. Are the plastic and metal parts of this product easy to separate (e.g., not glued or welded together)? 3. Has the manufacturer eliminated brominated or chlorinated flame retardants (BFRs or CFRs) from this product? 4. Does the packaging for this product contain halogenated plastics, such as PVC, or chlorine-based plastics? 5. Does this product have a sleep, standby, or idle mode, and, if so, what is the power consumption in this mode? 6. Does this product have a sleep, standby, or idle mode, and, if so, how many minutes pass before this mode is activated? 7. How much energy is used per diagonal inch of the screen/monitor of this product? To calculate this value, divide the power consumption by the diagonal screen size. 8. Has mercury been eliminated from the product altogether or has it been removed from everywhere other than the screen? If not, do you have any plans to phase out mercury over the next three years? 9. Do you have a recycling or take-back program for this particular product? 10. Do you have one of the following recognized environmental management systems in place: ISO 14001, European EMAS or U.S. EPA Performance Track, and, if so, how was it certified (self or third party)?
